⛹🏽TSF 131: Basketball Legacy Project

What’s up, internet basketball junkies?

I’ve decided that my life’s mission will be publicly celebrating the basketball coaches who have impacted the lives of so many players and communities while achieving at a high level.

Too many great basketball coaching stories are never properly documented.

So today I’m launching The 🏀 Basketball Legacy Project - long-form conversation series focused on coaching careers, championship runs, basketball philosophy, tactical systems, and program building.

All these conversations will be free and public.

I’m now accepting submissions from coaches who have:

  • 300+ varsity wins
    OR
  • won a state championship

If that’s you, submit below:

Here are examples of “Legacy” shows:

THE STARTING FIVE

🥇 Best of the Week Coach Mike Jagacki and I built a Lockdown Defense together from scratch:

PG - 🏀 Coaches have been loving the Flexible 1-2-2 Zone Defense:

SG
- 🏀 Before you ask, the closest thing I have to this is "Zone Motion." It's a rover offense with similar rules that I used for 5+ years:

SF - 🏀 To see the differences, THIS is "Zone Motion" - same rover style with slightly different rules:

PF - 🏀 Mark Few is one of the best zone offense coaches in the country... I pulled a lot of "Encyclopedia of Zone Offense" material straight from Gonzaga:

C - 🏀 I will NOT be jinxing my hometown Cavs but best believe I've been watching (and having occasional outbursts):

OFF THE BENCH

🏀 The "Pack Set" to get the ball inbounds ELOB late game

🏀 "Wheeler" to attack a diamond press

🎥 This Week in Streaming:
Offense Under the Microscope - Roundtable with Pat Casey, Tristan Winkelman, and Matt Kramer
Building a LOCKDOWN Defense with Mike Jagacki

💪🏼 What am I working on? Prepping the final guide from Coach Misky on a 1-3-1 BLOB Defense System... Live streaming... Studying hall of fame coaches and how they operate as tacticians (will release Zone Offense first, then BLOBs)... Continuing to work on the Bucky McMillan pressing system, a modern defensive strategies guide...

What’s up, internet basketball junkie? This might be the simplest way to steal extra points next season. And it's pulled directly from "Special Teams: Guide to BLOB, SLOB, Late Game Situations, and more" It’s called a cross-pick on free throws - and it’s about as low-maintenance as it gets.
